NORTH DAKOTA’S FIRST ECO-FRIENDLY PRESCHOOL

More and more Americans are becoming aware of earth friendly products and services and now, North Dakota has its first licensed eco-friendly preschool. The Children`s Garden Preschool inside the Zion Lutheran Church in Minot recently completed an application process to get a license from Early Development of Global Education. Owners Sara and Shaun Brentrup say they`ve been recycling and using chemical free cleaning products in their own home and decided to bring it to work.

By meeting criteria such as using recycled paper towels and growing living plants inside the classroom, they qualify.
“It`s just something that I think is really important. We want to have a good impact on the planet and the kids are so young here that you may as well start teaching them these values when they`re young,” says Sara Brentrup.

In conjunction with Earth Day, which is Tuesday, April 22nd, the preschool is holding an open house from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. for anyone who wants to come by and learn about how the school has become eco-friendly. Started in 1970, Earth.
