Last Saturday, if you weren’t at The Commons at the University of Miami on Key Biscayne, you missed a spectacular evening and an opportunity to give back to an organization that does so much for the community. The EDGE’s Second Annual Masquerade Ball was hosted brilliantly by local celebrity and conservationist Ron Magill. The event honored several guests, including Councilwoman Peggy Bell of Cutler Bay, internationally renowned Primatologist Dr. Mireya Mayor, and Rod Hildebrant and Matthew Meehan for their work with Sunil’s Home, an orphanage in India. The event benefited the EDGE’s Charitable Foundation and Children for Children Campaign.
The EDGE’s Second Annual Masquerade Ball was highlighted by an eloquent speech on the value of early environmental education by Dr. Marie V. McDemmond, Interim Dean of the College of Education at FIU. A raffle and auction were the last events of the evening, and through the contributions of all attendees, sponsors, and friends of the EDGE, we were able to raise enough money to benefit services provided by The EDGE Charitable Foundation.
The EDGE’s Second Annual Masquerade Ball was sponsored by Caché of Dadeland Mall, CNC Management Group, Southside Productions, Group M, Publix, Original Impressions, Parties by Pat, The Commons at the University of Miami Key Biscayne, Balmar Trophies, Romero Britto, Checkers Liquor, Kilowatts Electric Supply Co., and Exotic Car Concierge. In addition, the EDGE would like to thanks Allied Paper, Extra Space Storage, The Home Depot, Hilton Hotels, the Hispanic Police Officers’ Association of Miami-Dade, Little Blue Box, Old Cutler Academy, Ed Gallagher Photography, Precision Translating Services, TeenClassifieds.net, Tennis Lessons by Victor Garcia, Caribana Graphics, Up in Smoke Cigars, Univision, Green Fire, and Staples at Pinecrest for their continued support.
The EDGE Charitable Foundation would like to offer special thanks to Extra Space Storage, Florida International University, Skanska, Expert Claims Adjusters, the Hispanic Police Officers’ Association of Miami-Dade, Mr. Matthew Meehan and Mr. Rod Hildebrant, and Dr. Eden Martin and Mr. Derrick Wilkes for their continued support and their generous donations.
If you did not attend, you missed a great party for a great cause, and we hope you will join us next year.
